E-Waste

What is e-waste; quite simply it is technology that has been discarded. Whether appliances, cell phones, computers, lawn mowers or televisions, they become electronic waste.  Why is this a concern?  These products are often full of toxic chemicals including lead, mercury and cadmium.  Most of these products are dumped in landfills.  With the move to ‘go green’ more and more companies are offering a ‘take back’ program where they claim to recycle e-waste.  This blog will explore current practices and companies that are making a difference.  We will also look into how this affects us locally and the practices of WSU.
